Another social activity the staff at Eliot Sinclair like to get involved with is the annual Colour Run 5k. Held in Christchurch in February, the Colour Run is an un-timed even, with no winner or prizes, instead focusing on meeting with friends and families and enjoying time together.
Waiting at the starting line with thousands of other participants, the whole crowd dances and jumps up and down to warm up to a live DJ in a very energetic environment – despite the weather!
Approximately once every kilometre in the race participants encounter colour checkpoints, where non-toxic paint powder is blasted at them as they pass through, soon changing the pristine white race t-shirt into a rainbow of colours.
The finish line meets contestants in all its festive glory, as everyone joins in with famous Colour Throws, throwing colourful dust at each other.
The Colour Run, described as ‘the happiest 5K on the planet’ is a one of a kind experience which our team of runners, walkers and dancers look forward to every year.
